INTEGRITY

Perhaps our most important principle of leadership, integrity demands truthfulness and honesty.  We both mean and do what we say, and we hold ourselves to account when we do anything except our very best.  We strive to be whole, complete, lacking nothing in conscience and always telling the truth. We take the steps needed to correct that which needs to be corrected to restore integrity. Our perspective extends well beyond the expected constraints of viewing our actions solely in terms of profit or loss to include what is fair and right. 

CRAFTSMANSHIP

We advocate for artistry in our everyday lives, even under our feet, and celebrate the compelling craftsmanship, hand-finished character, and innovative design of our products. We believe aesthetic moments have the power to enrich life’s experiences. Intentionally adorning a space honors all who gather there and glorifies our Creator. 

STEWARDSHIP 

Stewardship is the careful and responsible management of all things entrusted to our care, it is the responsibility we have in maintaining and using wisely the gifts and blessings that God has bestowed upon us.  We seek to glorify God by being faithful stewards of all that is entrusted to us and by having a positive influence on all who come into contact with us. Through Servant Leadership, we recognize our responsibility to love, serve, and care for each other regardless of position or role in the company. Our stewardship extends from forest to floor, prioritizing human and environmental health in all of our products.

FAMILY

We are a family oriented company that prioritizes the relational over the transactional. We care about the people with whom we do business and we care about their livelihoods. We work as a family within Valencia, and as an extended family with our customers and business partners.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Valencia’s culture extends beyond our company. We bring Servant Leadership to our local communities. Our parent company, Bonner Carrington, organizes philanthropy, outreach events, donation drives, and community service projects. We share the talents, treasures, and passion of our team and company to enrich the lives of those around us.

WHAT DOES SERVANT LEADERSHIP MEAN?

Servant Leadership is about everyone taking responsibility for serving others in order to help every person at Valencia reach their fullest potential while we accomplish extraordinary things together. It ignores titles or hierarchy and instead embraces trust, respect and relationship.  As Servant Leaders, we listen first, share knowledge, treat others with respect, and elicit trust.  How do we know if we’re getting it right?  In the words of Robert K. Greenleaf, who first introduced the concept of Servant Leadership to Corporate America: 

“The best test is this.  Do those served grow as persons; do they, while being served, become healthier, wiser, freer, more autonomous, more likely themselves to become servants?”
